FAQs
How do I apply for a place at ILM Schools?
Parents should first complete our Expression of Interest Form. After submission, the admissions team will contact you with the next steps. In the event that ILM Schools become oversubscribed, places will be allocated in line with our Admissions Policy. Priority will be given to applicants who meet the published criteria, and when applications exceed available spaces, a waiting list will be established and maintained in order of priority.
What happens after I submit the Expression of Interest Form?
Your form will be reviewed by the admissions team, who will then guide you to either book an assessment/visit or attend the next Open Day, depending on your preferred start date.
Do you accept pupils mid-year?
Yes. If you require an immediate start, the relevant school will arrange an assessment, school tour, and availability check.
When are your Open Days held?
We hold Open Days once every term at both Primary and High School. Parents applying for the following September intake will be invited to attend.
Is there an entrance assessment?
Yes. All pupils complete an age-appropriate assessment in English, Maths, and general skills. This helps us understand their current level and support needs.
What documents are required for admission?
We require:
-
Birth certificate or passport
-
Proof of address
-
Previous school report (if applicable)
-
Any SEND/ALN documentation (if relevant)
How long does the admissions process take?
On average, 1–2 weeks for mid-year admissions and slightly longer for September intakes depending on assessment and document completion.
What happens after my child is accepted?
Once your child is offered a place, an Acceptance Letter will be emailed with the start date. Starter forms and document guidance will also be provided.
Will my child need to wear uniform?
Yes. ILM Schools has a clear uniform policy to promote unity, identity and high standards. Full details will be provided when a place is offered.
Are there any additional charges?
At ILM Schools, we are committed to providing a high-quality educational experience enriched with opportunities beyond the classroom. Certain items and activities fall outside the standard fee structure, including educational trips, school uniforms, specialised equipment and additional learning resources.
These supplementary costs are applied only where necessary and will be communicated to parents and carers well in advance. Full details, including purpose, cost and payment timelines, will be provided to ensure clarity and allow families adequate time to prepare.
Our aim is to maintain transparency in all financial matters while ensuring pupils continue to benefit from a broad and enriching educational experience.
Who do I contact for admissions queries?
All admissions-related questions can be sent to the school admissions team at admissions@ilmschools.org, who will keep parents updated throughout the process.
